Today was Sam's last football game. All season long, Sam's team was unable to score at all. The team worked hard every week but could not make a touch down. The team we played against for our last game was Layton. The Layton coach must have seen the scores throughout the season and realized that this team had not scored. He decided to give us a touch down...telling our coaches to have our players run to the right and Layton would block left on the next play. I thought how nice is that, in fact it put a big lump in my throat. I was so impressed that a different coach would have the insight to know how good a touch down would feel to a team that had been working so hard. I was amazed with the kindness. Well Sam's team did make that touch down and the crowd went wild. And then shortly after, they were still playing with tons of excitement and they scored another one. It was so great to end the season with a couple of touch downs. Sam was excited and it made me smile to see how happy everyone of the players were. Even though we lost and didn't win a single game all season...these players were able to walk off the field with a smile...the Layton coach did a great thing! So nice! Thank you Layton!...score 27-14

I have so much respect for a man like that...he taught his team a life lesson that day that is more important than any game play. What a great man! Glad Sam had so much fun! Don't they just seem so much older in those football uniforms for some reason?
